You’ve probably heard stories about it. A man or woman would like to make changes to make life better. They can diet, talk to a coach or visit a stylist for a makeover in which clothing, hairstyle and other external features undergo a metamorphosis.
God wants a ‘makeover’ for all people, to make their and other lives better, and therefore also for you, in the manner how you are really meant to be. Perfect, holy, healthy, happy and loved beyond borders. You are a spirit with a soul living in a body [1Thes 5:23] and Jesus came not only to save you spiritually, but also to restore your soul and your body.
The Lord Jesus came to give us a choice .
John 1:12-13 tells us that Jesus gave us “power” to become children of God. In the original text, this power is ‘Exousia’ and means the power to make a choice. Jesus shared the good news of the Kingdom, where everything is as it should be. He did say that the Kingdom of God can only be seen by those who are ‘born again’ [John:3-5]. You enter the Kingdom of God through “water and spirit.” The Bible says that God makes it possible for us to enter the Kingdom through His grace, the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit [Tit 3:4-5].
When you place your life in the hands of God and trust His Word, you become a ‘new creation’ [ 2Cor5:17]. For you, as a believer, you have heard the Good News of your salvation, also called the Word of truth. You opened your heart to God’s Word and His Spirit, you accepted it as the truth and you knew, something had changed. As a sign for the spiritual and natural world, you have also been baptized, or you have a strong desire to do so. You leave your ‘old life’ behind in the baptismal water and are added to the Church of God.
But what does it mean for you now? A birth means a new person, a new time begins. You are born as a son or daughter. You end up in a family. You get an identity.
The decision to have children
A child is born because the parents love each other and want to give their love to children within a family.
The Bible says that God chose you before the foundation of the world and prepared for you every ‘spiritual blessing’ because He loves you [Eph 1:3-6]. God’s love for you was revealed in that He sent His only begotten Son into the world so that you might live through Him [1John 4:9].
Birth Cerficate
When a child is born, the father usually registers the child with the municipal population affairs office or at city hall. The child automatically receives the nationality of the parents.
The Bible says that you are now recorded in ‘the book of Life’ [Luke 10:20] . You are officially acknowledged by the Father in Heaven.
Nationality
When you have a birth certificate, you can apply for a passport to officially prove your identity and the country you belong to.
The Bible says that God has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of His love. This is also called ‘in Christ’. Your life is hidden with Christ in God. You are in (the Kingdom of) Christ, and belong to the family of God. In the spiritual world.
The Holy spirit is your seal [Efe1:13-14].
Look-a-like
A baby has external characteristics of its parents.
The Bible states [Col 1: 15-28] that Jesus is the image of the Invisible God and is called the Firstborn of all creation and through Him all things were created, including you. There is even a ‘great secret’ made known, Christ lives in you, He is the hope of perfection (glory) [Col 1:27]. So in the spiritual world you are just like Him [1John4:17]. Jesus is our Leader [Heb2:10].

Siblings
A child is born into a family and often has brothers and/or sisters.
The Bible says that Jesus is our brother [Heb2:12] and other believers are our brothers and sisters.
Makeover
The Bible says, whoever has the Son has life [1joh5:12]. Put on the ‘new man’ [Eph4:24, Col3:10].
After a makeover, people often feel more confident because they are happy with what they see in the mirror. The Bible is a mirror [1Cor13:12] for you and shows you who you have become, who you are now and who you look like.
You now belong to the Kingdom of God. Now if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above [Col3:1]. What do we see there?
The Bible says [Isa33:17-24] that we can now see the King in His beauty and that we have a safe dwelling place and we can trust that God is our judge, lawgiver, King and Savior. And in this Kingdom we are forgiven and there is no more sickness.
